Xbox 360 Fix - How to Fix Your Xbox 360 Permanently

There are 3 basic steps to fixing your Xbox 360 yourself. First, determine what the exact error code is. Second, select the appropriate Xbox 360 repair guide. Third, follow the instructions and get back to gaming. Obviously, the most important step is figuring out what is wrong with your Xbox 360. To do this, look at the power LED ring because it will flash in a particular pattern. The pattern itself provides insight into the problem. Different patterns will lead to numbered error codes which will help define the problem further. You can find a complete listing of the error codes along with instructions on how to get the console to reveal exactly what is wrong by following the link at the end of this article.

After you have deciphered the error codes, you will need to decide on the right Xbox 360 Fix Repair Guide. The link at the end of this article also has a page that provides a side by side comparison of the Xbox 360 Fix Repair Guides. The hard work has been done for you. Review each one carefully and then make your choice. Once you have your guide in hand you are ready to repair. You can usually repair your console in 1 to 2 hours depending on how handy you are with tools.

After you have repaired your own Xbox 360 why not recoup your money and fix your friends consoles or buy a broken one off of eBay. Once you fix one you will be amazed at how easy it is. Here are the basic steps.

  1. Open the console
  2. Remove the fan shroud and fan
  3. Remove the DVD player.
  4. Remove the power button and motherboard
  5. Remove the X-Clamps
  6. Remove the Heat Sinks
  7. Clean up the old thermal paste
  8. Put new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU
  9. Re-install the heat sinks, motherboard, DVD Player and overheat
  10. Re-install the fan and put the console back together

It really is that easy. This is a permanent fix and lots of the guides show you exactly how to do it with pictures and videos and even online help. So like I said before, save your money and do not send your Xbox 360 back to Microsoft. However, make sure you do your homework before buying an Xbox 360 Fix Repair Guide (not all guides are created equal). You will be glad you did.

To help you determine the right Xbox 360 Repair Guide go to http://360fixit.com You will find a side by side comparison showing you all the features that each Xbox 360 Repair Guide offers along with an error code listing. Good Luck and Good Gaming.

Star Trek - A History of the Game

Of all hit comic books, television shows and movies there is none more suited for adaptation as a video game than the Star Trek series. With its well developed characters, a very realistic sci-fi setting and millions and billions of starry eyed fans it's no wonder that copies just seem to disappear of the shelves the second any Start Trek games hits the market. The first Star Trek Episode was aired in the year 1966 and stayed right on top of the charts for more than three years. By the time the last episode of the original Star Trek was aired in 1969, this futuristic concept screamed of being developed for a more interactive medium - namely video games, where fans could participate directly in the revolution.

The first Star Trek Game was created by an unknown team of coders in 1975. For those who were fond of combat aspect of Star Trek, the game proved to be really addictive and was surprisingly quite advanced for the time it was made. The basic plot of game was short and to the point. For reasons not mention the peace treaty between the Klingon Empire and the Federation has collapsed, and you as the commander of the USS Enterprise, have to use all your resources, to destroy the Klingon Armada, which they have sent to into the Federation territory. It hardly needs to be mentioned that the interface was wholly text based you had to type in your instructions and the results of your decisions were typed back to you.

Once personal computers became commonplace, a number of games were Star Trek based games were created. But gamers got their first real dose of the Star Trek Series with the release of Star Trek: 25th Anniversary. Developed by Interplay the game was a graphical adventure that set really high standards for all future Star Trek games. Like each Star Trek Episode is a self contained drama, the game too had a number of mini-missions, which the player was supposed to complete. After the end of each mission the player got an evaluation report that analyzed his overall performance.

Another great game was Star Trek: Klingon, which was hailed by the critics as the "ultimate interactive adventure". In the game the player takes up the Persona of Pok, a young Klingonian who has to avenge the death of his father. Its one of the most interesting Star Trek games you will ever come across.

Another Star Trek Game which followed a similar plot structure was Star Trek: Borg. In this game you play the role of a Starfleet recruit, who is sent back in time by Q, to save the life of his father who was killed by Borg. A fast passed adventure game, Star Trek: Borg is all about making split second decisions.

The other interesting Star Trek titles that you should definitely play are Star Trek: Armada and Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force. Both of them have been created by Raven Software, so you can be sure that you won't be disappointed.
