Xbox Red Ring of Death - Ways to Solve It

Did your xbox just stop working? Did it just show the red ring of death on the xbox suddenly?

Getting the red ring of death on my xbox was very annoying as all I wanted was to get back into my game and start playing. On checking with Microsoft, I found that the repair cost would be over $140 just to get my xbox for playing again.

Through trying to fix my xbox 360, I found that there were many many fixes in which I use to get my xbox 360 back into working shape:-

I had found out there were many unorthodox fixes for the xbox 360 on youtube. Some of them even included wrapping the xbox 360 in towels. However, trying out the towel trick fix on my own xbox 360 was out of the question as chances of overheating and getting my xbox destroyed was high. Repairing my xbox 360 in this way was totally out of the question.

I turned to my local repair shop instead to repair my xbox 360 and found that they wanted a repair fee of over $90 for repairing the xbox 360 plus over a week. A much better deal than sending to Microsoft for $$140 for 2 weeks.

There was an even more foolproof method of repair, as I had found out, that I could repair my xbox 360 for under $40 within 2 hours! Moreover, there was an additional upgrade for the xbox for HDMI graphics!

All these repairs even had a two month guarantee on all of them and this was very valuable. Repairs with Microsoft did not have any guarantee and the local shop that I went to only had a one week guarantee for the repairs that they made.

This deal was extremely worth it and I picked up on it immediately, as it was risk free and one of the fastest repair and cheapest of all.

I had found that there were even more features of such repairs and many many other equivalent repairs that was usable immediately to get me back into my game.

Xbox360 Repair - 30 Minutes Or Less

Xbox360 repair can be frustrating if you do not have the proper instructions or tools to guide you. Your Xbox360 is without doubt, one of the precious possessions that you are proud of, but it is not infallible.

An Xbox360 repair can be done by yourself and in the convenience of your own home. Make sure your system is clean and is getting proper airflow. To improve your system airflow, trying blowing compressed air into the perforations located on the back and sides of the system.

If that does not work and you are feeling more adventurous, you can disassemble your Xbox360 and further inspect it for damage. However, you should be aware that this form of Xbox360 repair would void your warranty.

Xbox360 Repair Quick Steps:

1. Unplug the power and AV cables and open your console. Do not forget to unplug the console...seriously.

2. Disconnect your DVD drive and remove it from the chassis.

3. Disconnect and remove your fan and fan shroud from the chassis.

4. Lift out your circuit board from the chassis.

5. Remove the x-clamps.

6. Remove your heat sinks, the studs from the heat sinks and clean the thermal paste off of the CPU, GPU and heat sinks.

7. Put thermal paste on CPU and GPU.

8. Put the x-clamp kit screws and washers (these replace the x-clamps and studs) into the circuit board.

9. Screw the heat sinks in place with the x-clamp kit screws.

10. Put the circuit board back into the chassis.

11. Connect the DVD drive and the fan. Do not snap the fan back in place yet. Place the fan face down (stickers down) with one fan over the CPU and one over the DVD drive. Reconnect the power and the AV cables. Turn on the Xbox 360 for 15 minutes and let it overheat. After 15 minutes turn the console off and let it cool down for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes turn the unit back on and you should be rewarded with green lights.

An Xbox360 repair should always be a "do it yourself project" since if you turn the Xbox 360 to Microsoft for repair your wait time would be 4-8 weeks.

Nebraska state Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha speaks in Lincoln, Neb., Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at a news conference in which Neb. Gov. Dave Heineman announced that he had called a special session of the legislature to fix the state's safe-haven law, which allows parents to abandon children as old as 18. Full PC Game Downloads - Try Before You Buy

Video games are bigger than the movie industry these days and it's about time we get some respect. It's interesting to see how a game console like the PS3 can make or break a giant company like Sony or how important it is to Microsoft to see the Xbox 360 succeed. We're even seeing ads and commercials in our games, a sure-fire sign that we're being taken serious. Hey, they wouldn't do it if we weren't important to them. But that's not what I want to talk about. What I set out to do is discuss PC game downloads.

The way I see it, the gaming scene pretty much divides into PC gaming and console gaming. Consoles are proprietary and the games come on CDs, DVDs or BlueRay discs. You can also buy PC games on discs and order them online or get them from a store, but I much prefer to download video games from online. I mean, most of us do have broadband Internet access, so why not download games directly?

Well, there are some potential pitfalls. For example, due to my reputation as a geek and computer guru, everyone seems to call me when his or her PC has a problem. Most often, the problem turns out to be a virus. Worm or Trojan infestation, and it's usually because they download stuff from all sorts of dubious places. So don't be stupid. Stay with a reputable vendor who won't mess up your system!

Another problem with a lot of the online video games stores is that they don't let you try before you buy. Or if they do, it's so complicated that you give up in frustration. You should have to read a manual and reconfigure your computer just to play a demo.

Finally, with all the gazillion gaming sites and stores out there, I prefer just one place that has it all. That way I know where to go and I won't have to remember URLs or have dozens of logins to all sorts of little sites. Give me one big site that has all the PC video games I need. Price is another issue, and it goes without saying that a bigger site usually has better prices.

What matters most to me, though, is that I can try the games. And by that I don't mean just a video or a limited demo or some screen shots. I want to play the whole game. Now the vendors have to get paid, of course, and so the compromise is that you get to download the game by clicking on a button and then play for an hour. That makes sense. If it's a small game and you get hooked, you can then decide if you want to keep it by paying. If it's a big game, an hour gives you enough time to figure out if you want to really get into it. Sounds fair to me.

So don't waste time searching for full PC games downloads in all the wrong places. The site I am using has probably the largest and deepest video game library out there, and there are many hundreds of titles I can download and try. It has a patented one-click download technology that couldn't be simpler. I am hooked.

Most Popular Nintendo Wii Games For Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching and the search for the perfect gift will soon be underway. If you are buying for a Wii lover, here's a list of this season's most popular Nintendo Wii games.

One of the most highly anticipated games for the Wii is the Nintendo exclusive edition of the famous Sim City game series. With "Sim City Creator", you'll be able to build your own fantastic city as well as creating and carrying out some nightmare natural disasters. Use the Wii Remote to whip-up whirlwinds, smash the Hand of God on buildings, or roll a giant Katamari-like ball of destruction over the whole city.

For fans of Mario Kart, "Mario Kart Wii" features Wii specific motion controls. You can choose classic Nintendo characters or make a personalized Mii and compete with as many as eleven opponents. If you use the Wii Wheel along with the Wii Remote, you can perform some awesome speed booster tricks, just by shaking the controls.

Guitar Hero made its first appearance on the Wii last year and was wildly successful. This year, with "Guitar Hero World Tour" adding a microphone and drum kit support, it again should claim a big part of the market.

"Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party" is the kind of game that the Nintendo Wii was born for. It's fun, it's interactive and with forty new min-games controlled by sitting and moving around on the Wii Balance Board, it's perfect for a party.

And even though it's been available for awhile, the Wii "Fit" is still a good choice. Use the balance board to work on aerobics, yoga and other activities.

These are just a few of the most popular Nintendo Wii games availably for this Christmas. So start checking that list because the good games don't last long.
